DP Job Description

Postby JPantelas » Tue Jun 11, 2013 3:56 pm

Does anyone have a Job Description for a Navy Data Processing Technician dating back to the early 70s? I know, I can hear the jokes already! But here's the deal: VA is telling me that their interpretation of my job title (which they are not sharing with me) does not match what I say I did, so I'm wondering what job description they're looking at!

I know what I was trained on - Univac 1500, Tab Machines and that bloody keypunch proficiency test that nearly put me out of A School - but I spent the bulk of my 4 years assigned to NSGA (at NSA) where I worked on stuff that was a whole bunch more complicated. I know what I was trained on was different than what I worked on, but I suspect that the job description should be built on areas that are similar. I just don't have a copy.

If anyone's got one I'd sure appreciate a copy.

Thanks - Jim

Some of the past DP "A" school instructors may have a school curriculum from those days.
